Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) took to the House floor and threw a temper tantrum against Republicans equivalent to shutting off a video game on a four year old. His anger stemmed from Republican proposed amendments in heavily watered down liberal legislation.

The clock struck thirteen for Charlie Rangel yesterday. Listing 13 counts in its bill of par ticulars, the House Ethics Committee declared that there exists "substantial reason to believe that a violation of the code of official conduct, or of a law, rule, regulation or other standard of conduct," was committed by the dean of New York's congressional delegation. Let us note right up front that the findings represent an indictment -- not a conviction. For the moment, it seems Rangel will have every opportunity to make his case in public. But, at the end of the day, Rangel wasn't...

This past weekend, while addressing the Netroots convention in Las Vegas, Senator Harry Reid gave the gathering of lefties a promise regarding U.S. health care. "We're going to have a public option," Reid said. "It's just a question of when." The same thing can be said of a cap-and-trade energy bill: the Democrats are determined to get cap-and-trade. It's just a question of when. There's too much money to be made for Democrat cronies to let this opportunity pass. Nancy Pelosi pushed the original 1,200-page cap-and-trade bill though the House of Representatives a year ago. I have written extensively about...

WASHINGTON -- Harlem Rep. Charles Rangel said yesterday that investigators have unearthed new allegations of misconduct against him, while House Democratic leaders increased the pressure on him to reach a settlement before a congressional trial starts Thursday. "We waited almost two years, and they finally investigated, and guess what -- they have some more alleged violations," Rangel said. The embattled pol did not reveal whether the latest accusations were previously unknown to the public or were related to the original charges that prompted the probe by the House Ethics Committee. The alleged misdeeds include Rangel using House stationery to solicit...

House Dems count down final weekBy Jared Allen - 07/26/10 06:00 AM ET The last week in session will result in either good news or bad news for House Democrats. The party could use the week to cram as many job creating and deficit reduction measures onto the floor schedule as possible so they can tout their work to voters back home during the August recess. Or they could spend the week running through the gantlet of Rep. Charlie Rangel's (D-N.Y.) ethics troubles, the never-ending stimulus-deficit legislative paradox and the Senate's virtual inability to act on anything the House manages...

What Bachmann thinks should happen if the Repubs get control of the HouseBy Eric Black Published Fri, Jul 23 2010 8:58 am **SNIP** BACHMANN: "Oh, I think that's all we should do...I think that all we should do is issue subpoenas and have one hearing after another. And expose all the nonsense that has gone on. And it's very important when we come back that we have constitutional conservative leadership because the American people's patience is about this big. So we have to make sure that we do what the people want us to do because one thing that you...

White House: Unemployment at 9% until 2012By Jeanne Sahadi, senior writer July 23, 2010: 6:27 PM ET NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The White House said Friday it expects that unemployment will stay at or above 9% until 2012, but at the same time forecast that the economy will grow by at least 4% in 2011 and 2012. It also revised its long-term deficit estimate under President Obama's proposed 2011 budget: The administration now believes the 10-year deficit will be $58 billion less than projected in February when the budget blueprint was first released. Under the revised estimates, Uncle Sam will...

Throughout his presidential campaign, then-candidate Barack Obama promised the American people: “If you’re a family that’s making $250,000 a year or less, you will see no increase in your taxes.” After he became President, Barack Obama reiterated that pledge, promising the American people in his September 9th health care press conference: “The middle-class will realize greater security, not higher taxes.” But Obamacare does contain tax hikes. Tons of them. From taxes on tanning beds to taxes on employment and investments, Obamacare is a certified job-killing machine.
